Important Information

If payment has not been made for your stay in the area within 48 hours of departure, a claim will be sent to your online bank for the unpaid stay along with an invoice fee.

Such a claim is made for vehicles in chargeable parking when it is clear that payment has not been made for parking or has only been made for a shorter period than required.

The claim is issued to the national ID number of the vehicle's owner or registered keeper, if listed in the vehicle registry.

The claim will appear immediately in your online bank or banking app. If the claim is not paid, it may be sent to a collection agency.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why is there a parking charge at Egilshöll?

This is to improve access for those coming for services or to attend practice sessions in the building.

See more here.

  • Is it Egilshöll that charges for parking?

The charges are made by the property owner, Heimar (the property company). The fee collection is managed by Green Parking.

  • What is Green Parking?

Green Parking is a company specialising in modern and automated solutions for managing car parks, parking garages and multi-storey car parks.

  • Do I always have to pay if I stop in the area?

No. In most parking spaces at Egilshöll, the first four hours are free. The charges are primarily for those who leave vehicles for an extended period, not for those accessing services or attending practice sessions.

  • Where can I park without paying?

You can stay at short-term parking spaces for a maximum of 15 minutes without paying. These spots are located in the bay in front of the main entrance, in front of Shake and Pizza, and by the goods entrances on the west side of Egilshöll. These spaces are for pick-up and drop-off only. In other spaces, you can park for up to a maximum of four hours per day without paying.

  • Can blue badge holders park for free at Egilshöll?

Yes. For blue badge holders to park for free at Egilshöll, registration is required.

There are two ways to do this:

Using the Autopay app:

The blue badge holder downloads and sets up the Autopay app, if they do not already have it. The Autopay app is free and has no obligations. The badge holder then registers their vehicle registration number in the app. It is not necessary to register a payment card unless it will be used for payments elsewhere.

The blue badge holder then sends an email to hjalp@greenparking.is including a photo of their badge for verification and the email address used to set up the Autopay account.

Green Parking customer service will then grant access through Autopay for the holder to park for free in both the nearest and more distant car parks at Egilshöll.

The benefit of the Autopay app is that users can change the vehicle registration in the app (or have several registration numbers) if they are not always using the same car, so they do not need to report changes. The permit is linked to the Autopay account rather than the registration number.

Without the Autopay app:

If not able or willing to set up an Autopay account, the person sends an email to hjalp@greenparking.is with a photo of the blue badge for verification and the registration number.

Green Parking customer service registers the vehicle registration number on the list of blue badge holders, after which the individual can park that vehicle for free at Egilshöll, both in the nearest and more distant car parks.

The permit is linked to the registration number, so you must notify them of any changes to ensure the correct number is on file.

  • How does the parking fee system work?

The camera system reads the number plates of vehicles entering and exiting the area, monitoring which vehicles are present and for how long. If the vehicle is within the free period, nothing needs to be done. If parked for longer, payment is required.

  • How do I pay if I exceed the free period?

There are various payment options available. You can use the parking apps Autopay and EasyPark to pay. You can also scan a QR code on signs in the area to access the payment site for Egilshöll.

  • When do I need to pay?

Payment should be made before leaving the area. If you pay via the payment site, once payment has been made, the driver has a few minutes to exit the area. If you use automatic payments in a parking app, you do not need to do anything, as the app will handle the payment.

Note: If payment has not been made for your stay within 48 hours of departure, a bank claim for the unpaid period plus a service fee will be issued.

  • I have received an invoice from Green Parking, what is this invoice?

You can log in to your Green Parking account here using electronic ID. There you can view the invoice details and submit any comments.
